My nephews are growing up rapidly and it doesn`t seem like five minutes ago that they were born. It only seems like yesterday when they were into Thomas the Tank Engine and now they are into Need for Speed. I`d spend hours playing with my action man when I was a kid. It was in the late 1970s and the action man I was given was a military soldier. There were numerous figures that you could buy at that time, from helicopter pilots to submarine Commanders. My figure came with a motorcycle and side car that had a machine gun mounted on it. I`m not quite sure what happened to my soldier, perhaps he was killed in action or went a.w.o.l when I got a little older. One thing I do know is he might have been worth a lot of money if I had managed to keep hold of him with all his original packaging, because he would have been classed as one of the vintage action man figures that are now for sale. I looked at one of the shops who sold these fine action figures and the action man that I had way back in the day was for sale, at quite a hefty sum. Obviously it wasn`t THE action figure I had, because that would be amazing, but it was the same type as I can remember the scar on his face and the close-cropped flocked brown hair.
